Many women congregated at the Morehead Conference Center during April for the second annual Lead-Her-Ship gathering, where success stories were recognized, and women were encouraged to lift one another in their respective fields.

Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman took the stage and highlighted the importance of women supporting each other and uplifting themselves at work. She pointed out that working in harmony is key to growth and leadership, especially when faced with competition. Lt. Gov. Coleman also encouraged the audience to seek opportunities to help other organizations run by women.

The speech made a huge impact on the audience members, such as entrepreneur Tara Barnhart. She shared how she started owning the health care company passed down from her family, especially from her father, who had retired in 2023. She found herself under pressure at first since she was expected to live up to the legacy established over forty years ago.

However, she eventually managed to develop her personal management approach, as Barnhart pointed out. She highlighted the importance of self-belief and the freedom to make independent decisions while continuing the legacy.

Barnhart, who also attended the previous edition of the event, credited the conference for inspiring major personal and professional changes. She explained that her experience pushed her to pursue personal development while she learned to control her own future.
