Suchata Chuangsri, widely referred to as Opal, took home the Miss World 2025 crown in the final event in Hyderabad, India. Opal, Thailand’s representative, was crowned the winner among 108 international representatives. Her victory was history-making—she is the first Thai to be crowned since the pageant started in 1951.

Opal’s victory element was not only her poise and grace but also her emotive breast cancer awareness campaign. In her 16th year, she underwent surgery to remove a benign breast tumor, an experience that transformed her life and later prompted her to launch the campaign “Opal For Her.” Through the campaign, people learn about early detection, women battling breast cancer are helped, and women’s health issues are brought to the forefront—efforts that resonated deeply with the Miss World judges.

At age 21 now and attending Thammasat University, Opal is pursuing a political science and international relations degree. Besides her educational background, she is also fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese. Her cerebral basis and compassionate mission make her exceptional on the global stage.

Prior to Miss World, Opal was appointed Miss Universe Thailand 2024 and third runner-up at Miss Universe 2024. It was, however, due to participation in Miss World that her contract was violated with the Miss Universe Organization, and she was disqualified for the latter competition. Despite the controversy, her victory in Miss World reestablished her career and increased her influence.

Opal’s story is one of resilience, courage, and social responsibility. Her triumph not only earns Thailand pride but also becomes a new benchmark for the power of personal advocacy in the field of global pageantry.
