Global Women’s Leadership Summit Honors Inspiring Female Leaders

World Women Organization sponsored Global Women’s Leadership Summit, which was conducted at Church Center for the United Nations, New York, and in partnership with the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. More than 100 individuals visited this location to recall and pay tribute to the actual contribution of women leaders and businesswomen from diverse backgrounds. Twelve great women were honored and awarded for their commendable work in the direction of accomplishing economic, social, and political reforms globally.

This day saw the session convened to commemorate the Beijing Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption date of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The report, supported by 189 nations, is still the policy manual of choice to lead the world towards gender equality and women’s empowerment. The report adopts strategic goals in the following six themes: education, health, economic participation, leadership, media visibility, and environmental activism.

Angela R.M., Director-General of World Women Organization, reiterated the need for women’s leadership to resolve the world’s major issues, ranging from reducing poverty to green revolution. She reiterated the call to action to establish a global sisterhood to motivate, empower, and challenge one another to progress and shape policy for women’s empowerment without lagging behind.

Jing Zhao Cesarone, summit chairwoman, underscored creating the platforms upon which women leaders would inspire, motivate, and mentor one another from their experiences. She advocated cross-cultural communication between women and pledged to advocate international development and cross-border business for women business, particularly women business from across the world.

The summit has witnessed the persistent and collective efforts that have been made to enhance gender equality and empower women all over the world through the platform offered by the Beijing Declaration.
