BCI hosted the second edition of the Women Investment Forum at its auditorium in Maputo, bringing together women in business, entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals, investors and institutional representatives. Global Business Network Africa (GBNA) organised the event under the theme “Let’s Talk about Business”.

José Furtado, Chairman of BCI’s Executive Committee, said investing in women means believing they can turn ideas into businesses and businesses into jobs. He said BCI wants more women to have the resources, knowledge and opportunities to grow.

Tânia Sitoe Zandamela, BCI’s Commercial Director, said investing in women also builds families, communities and the country. She outlined the bank’s financing for small businesses, covering investment and working capital, and its partnerships with public and private bodies on credit lines and guarantee funds. She added that financial education, management training and market links help turn good ideas into stronger businesses.

Participants discussed leadership, finance, innovation and business growth, and shared experiences. The forum highlighted women’s role in wealth creation, business leadership and investment decisions across Mozambique and Africa.

Jorge Duarte Bruno, President and Founder of GBNA, said investing in women is transforming Africa. He thanked BCI, the institutional partner, along with speakers, exhibitors and participants.

The forum fits BCI’s push for financial inclusion and entrepreneurship in the year the bank marks 30 years in Mozambique.
