Background
Sally Beauty Holdings has appointed Adrianne Lee as its senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective at the end of April. Lee steps into the role vacated by Marlo Cormier, who is departing the company.
Lee brings substantial financial leadership experience to Sally Beauty. She most recently served as president and CFO of Bed Bath & Beyond, where she spent six years in senior leadership. Before that, she held executive roles at The Hertz Corporation from 2014 to 2020. Earlier in her career, she worked in finance-focused positions at Best Buy, PepsiAmericas, Allianz Life, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Denise Paulonis, president and CEO of the Plano, Texas-based company, praised the appointment. Lee’s deep financial expertise across retail and consumer-facing industries, combined with her strategic mindset and talent development track record, makes her a strong fit to lead Sally Beauty’s finance function, Paulonis said.
Bed Bath And Beyond Store has picked Brian LaRose as Sally Beauty’s replacement when Lee left that store. LaRose held the position of CFO at The Container Store, which was the company that Bed Bath & Beyond announced it would acquire from bankruptcy for a price of $150 million in stock and convertible notes.
Bed Bath & Beyond also announced plans to acquire Swedish closet company Elfa and Elmhurst, Illinois-based Closet Works, both of which will be folded into its Everything Home product line.
The company also announced broader leadership changes. Amy Sullivan will head the expanded Bed Bath enterprise as president, while Lisa Foley moves from chief marketing officer to chief operating officer. Executive Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis shared these changes in a letter to shareholders in the first week of April.
