Background:

SCALE has announced that Honor Black and Cat Black, the co-founders of women-focused sportswear brand Maiden Cricket, will join the speaker lineup at the SCALE EXPO & SUMMIT 2026. The two-day event is scheduled to take place on April 22–23, 2026, at London’s Business Design Centre and will bring together fast-growing founders, investors, and business leaders from across the UK.

Still in full-time education, the sisters are set to become the youngest founders to speak at the summit. Their inclusion comes through SCALE’s newly launched Women Who Scale programme, which aims to spotlight and support women-led businesses with strong growth potential.

Maiden Cricket was started after the founders saw that girls had very few cricket kits made for them. What began as a small idea has grown quickly, with the brand now supplying kits to clubs, schools, and professional teams. One of its most significant milestones to date is a recent partnership with Cricket Wales, with the national women’s team now wearing Maiden Cricket apparel.

Sam North, co-founder and chief executive of SCALE, said the sisters’ journey stood out because of their clear sense of purpose and strong entrepreneurial mindset. He said the sisters stood out for spotting a real problem, creating a product that truly meets customer needs, and building strong partnerships, showing the kind of promise SCALE looks for in growing businesses.

At the summit, Cat and Honor will join other women entrepreneurs in panel discussions on turning personal experience into successful products, tackling funding challenges, and dealing with being young female founders in industries often led by men.

The sisters noted that they are also thrilled to share their experience and get to know investors and other founders. They feel that by collaborating with other women in business and gaining knowledge in other fields of business, businesses can be expanded.

Cricket leaders have not been left behind in the news as they have indicated that Maiden Cricket will make girls feel more secure and a part of the sport. SCALE EXPO & SUMMIT 2026 will be dedicated to funding, talent, leadership, and market access to help thriving businesses.
