Women Entrepreneurs Gain Financial and Investment Skills at ABSA-TPSF Seminar in Tanzania

ABSA Bank Tanzania and the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation have organized a financial literacy and investment management seminar in Dar es Salaam, focusing on women entrepreneurs in various sectors, ranging from big companies to small enterprises.

The objective of the seminar was to train participants on various aspects of finance in order to enhance their businesses.

ABSA Bank Tanzania Citizenship and Events Manager Abigail Lukuvi said the initiative forms part of the bank’s long-standing corporate social responsibility agenda, which focuses on empowering communities through financial education and business development support. She added that the knowledge and skills gained through these sessions would enable participants to achieve greater economic success and improve the sustainability of their businesses.

Tanzania Private Sector Foundation Director of Outreach and Membership Services Kinanasy Seif said the organisation remains committed to working with strategic partners to empower women entrepreneurs through capacity-building programmes. She expressed confidence that the knowledge acquired would help participants make informed financial decisions and accelerate business growth. Seif also noted that TPSF has implemented various initiatives supporting women in entrepreneurship, recognising their contribution to the private sector and national economy.

Tanzania Revenue Authority Kinondoni Tax Region Taxpayer Education and Communications Officer Zephania Mange addressed participants on taxpayer rights during his presentation. He emphasized the confidentiality of tax information against any unauthorized access as well as the fact that all taxpayers should be treated equally. He also pointed out that the first tax rulings made are not final because of the appeals process available.
