Background
Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) has launched the Women in Business Empowerment Programme to help women entrepreneurs and boost their role in Egypt’s economy. The programme was developed in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the European Union’s Financial Inclusion Initiative.
CIB said the initiative aims to help women grow competitive and sustainable businesses, in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The programme focuses on improving women’s access to skills, knowledge, and financial tools needed to succeed in today’s market.
The initiative offers a wide range of non-financial services, including specialised training and hands-on advisory support. The program focuses on digital marketing, brand building, business management, financial skills, and leadership. It supports women entrepreneurs at every stage of their business journey.
The programme is available exclusively to women entrepreneurs who are CIB clients. Alongside training and advisory support, CIB provides tailored financial solutions such as business financing on preferential terms, credit cards, and innovative funding options. Participants also receive services such as payroll management, insurance solutions, and digital payment of government fees.
Eligible businesses can benefit from advisory services funded by up to 80% by the EBRD, giving them access to expert guidance to overcome operational challenges.
The first phase of the programme will focus on marketing strategies and brand building. CIB said it plans to roll out additional specialised tracks over the coming year.
Through this initiative, CIB continues to promote inclusive growth by combining banking solutions with practical support for women-led businesses, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable economic development in Egypt.
