Background

Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited appointed Engr. (Mrs.) Elozino Olaniyan as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking a historic milestone for the local exploration and production company. Starting December 1, 2025, she will become the company’s first female chief executive.

Olaniyan has over 30 years of experience in Nigeria’s energy sector. She joins Midwestern from Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, where she worked as General Manager of Safety and Environment. Over the years, people have recognized her for her skills in running operations, managing the environment, and leading strategies, especially in the upstream sector.

The appointment comes at a time when Midwestern is implementing major governance reforms to strengthen its operational framework.
